That is a jaw-dropping beautiful quilt but I can't see myself being brave enough to attempt making my own.

I have nearly all blocks on my webshots, but my scanner broke and I have to use the camera now. I'll try to post a few this week, ok? This is a lovely quilt. I saw one completed years ago when I was on a retreat in Portland Oregon, and knew I needed to make this.....no skills in that area, but slowly I got them, then read about back basting. That makes it so much easier. A little harder because I had to trace the block onto the back side of the black block. But it works rather well, and I'm happy with the results.

I can't even think that detailed. But it is a spectacular quilt.

I purchased the book and the cd right after seeing the first post about it. I have the first block traced onto some beigy fabric and it's just sitting there looking at me. I have been wondering why the blocks are so small, thereby making the pieces miniature. I will attempt block 1 then make a decision to keep them this size or enlarge them and make less.

With the cd you can make the blocks any size you want.

I have the pattern and fabric all ready to go. It is 2013 applique project. Next year is Ladies of the Sea. Hopefully it only takes a year to do all the applique.

We've seen your work & it's fantastic. Are you thinking about joining us?
 Thanks. I will certainly watch - if I get inspired to join then I'd probably want to do needleturn and I've already started my winter evening hand sewing project - Secret Garden Cathedral Windows as a contemporary wallhanging. So I will keep an eye out for your progress. :-D

Oh, thank you! Black is my favorite background. It just makes all the colors pop off the surface! Finishing up Affaris of the Heart, but have LBB ready to go! Just need to get Peswara done for DH!
