Ya, What happens is the dark side "pops" out more and sits on a sea of your light color. I have also make my "light" out of plain black Kona. The colors of the "dark" section pop there too.

That one was made for me by my sister before she pass away and it is my treasure, it may look like all one color in the picture but it is different fabric in the light part of the block, I can see what you mean if I would have looked at the picture closer I would have seen that it did indeed look like all light colors.. Thanks for bring this to my attention...sometimes it take another pair of eyes..

I have seen them also Jeanne and they do look nice. The seam where you sew the strips together seems to separate the strips somewhat.

I think it will look great. It doesn't have to have multiple fabrics in either the lights or the darks. Go for it!

Your quilt will be wonderful. Hope you show us a picture when it is done. I, too, am using up my 'considerable stash'. I cannot believe the price of fabric these days.

I made this using the same fabric for the light, scrappy on the dark. Worked fine.
