log cabin quilt question
#1
Okay, inspired by the incredibly beautiful log cabins over in the pictures section, I have been slowly collecting FQs in two colors to make a quilt for me and DH. My question is this, about how many FQs do I need to make a king size quilt? Thanks!

I had a book out last night for scrap quilts, which had instructions for a log cabin of different sizes. I did the fat quarter calculations last year for queen, so it was easy to increase. The king size, with 100) 8 inch blocks would need about 16 fat quarters for lights and 22 for darks.
This particular pattern uses 1.5 inch strips. This is a generous estimate, you will probably be able to get 11 strips per FQ instead of the 10 I used for calculations, but I have to allow extra for boo-boos.
