Please share as you go. I have this way down on my to do list. Many have made them. Lots have been posted lately. I don't think we have a tutorial yet for the lone star. It would be wonderful if someone would do one. Good luck on yours.

A tutorial would be helpful. I'm relying on an old book I have. I'm excited about this. Need to pick up a few more fabrics this week.

I was just looking at a Lone Star pattern in McCalls Quick Quilts(the last edition).I've never done one myself and I am not sure how you are planning on piecing this together, but the pattern used strip piecing.

Iron the seams open instead of just to one side or the other. That was you don't have to plan ahead on where the seams meet to have them pointing in opposite directions. Bulk where the seams meet is a big issue with this pattern. Also, sew the pieces that meet in the middle in parts so before sewing all together.
