Hello Everyone,
I got a longarm in September and have spent the last few months leaning and becoming comfortable with using it. I am now wanting to start quilting for other people. I need your input on what to charge and any information that you think might be important. I am going to attend some local business class also. But from what I have read on this website, you guys will be my best source of information. Thanks for any help you can give me.

If you are looking for local customers, then pricing is going to be regional. It does vary all over the country. I would go to a couple LQS' in your area and get some brochures from other quilters to see what the going rate is.
There is a list of long arm quilters who offer services thru this board. You could contact those from your area:

Also decide if you want to only do overall quilting, pantos, or custom quilting. One friend only does overall or pantos as she feels it is her mission to do affordable quilting for quilters. She has a quick turnaround too.
Custom quilting gets involved with time spent to choose the design/s and do the recording of preferences. Type of thread used and amount. So many other costs are involved and yet you still get those who will complain and not want to pay. Therefore you need a disclaimer about the consequences of not paying the set price by a certain date.
Good luck.
