The quilt isn't ready yet, but I am working on it. I'm making a baby quilt and will be finished in the next week or so. I want to use Minky/Minkie (don't know how to spell it, I see it both ways) for the backing. I never used it. I will be longarming the quilt. What words of wisdom can you give me? I know there must be some dos and don'ts that I need to be familiar with.
The Minky that I have, has those little bubbles in the fabric, if that makes any difference.
    Thanks.

Minkie stretches A LOT. I try to plan my quilting so that I can put the selveges on the rollers, then be careful not to tighten the rollers too much. I've only done a couple of quilts with it, but they worked out fine. The bubbles didn't make any difference.

    Have fun!!

I agree with Shelley.Just did a Dora quilt for my grandaughter for Christmas and used minkee(hot Pink) on the back.Selvages on the rollers and didn't roll as tight.By the way she loved it,and husband wants one made with it.

Ditto!! Nicely worded. Selvage edges on the rollers is very important..I have some quilts in my etsy shop that have the bubble minky on the back. You can see them by clicking on the hyperlink by my signature.

I use minkee all of the time..my kids won't use a quilt without minkee on the back anymore.

I too pin the selvages. You do have to be careful not to stretch it to much when rolling...just as stated above.

But I have never had a problem with quilting it!
