Very nice.
Just a thought but maybe you could find someone in the Amish area that would hand quilt it for you. In Michigan when I worked in an area of Amish they were charging such a small amt. by the spool of thread but at that time I didn't quilt.....

wow you are so lucky.Try some fels naphta soap on the stain. I just got a quilt at a yard sale this weekend and it had a very dark water stain on it. Washed it in very hot water with some oxyclean and rubbed some fels naphta soap directly on the stain. It is virtually gone now.

Let the machine quilter do the shoofly quilt, but find someone to hand quilt the red and white one, as it is probably older, and very unique. Or...learn to hand quilt with a hoop and do it yourself. It is not hard, and is a nice winter project you can do while watching tv or listening to a recorded book.

Holey Moley, can't believe that your friend didn't want them. Do you have any vintage clothing shops around you? There are shops that sell vintage clothes. If she didn't want to do that maybe cut them for quilts. What a find! Lucky ladies. You for getting them from her and her for having a good friend to help her. As others have said I think that you should take them to someone that can date them for you. Good luck in whatever you do. BrendaK
