That is so nice - a collectible piece of furniture (from the 50's I bet!) you can enjoy AND use.

How did you do the ironing surface? What did you put on for the padded top and how did you attach it? More details please! I'd love to do something sim.

Thanks!

What a great gift you have in your husband! Beautiful job on the recycle! Reminds me of my maternal grandfather, who was also very talented in recycling BEFORE it was even popular! I have several item he made for me and I treasure them. How I miss him!

We still have TWO of those. One is cleaned out and serves as a storage unit in the utility room. The other one STILL SITS IN THE LIVING ROOM -- RIGHT UNDER THE FLAT SCREEN ON THE WALL ABOVE. When the little one come, we tune in to Disney and they watch while the guys watch football. Of course one of them has to have the sound turned down -- usually the football game. Are we weird or not?

Surprising how many of these we see sitting on the curb for free during the holiday season.

it's a 5.00 desk top from Ikea, batting on top, old towel on top of that, covered with fabric. Staple to the back..That's it....

I am loving today's upcycling trend with furniture. I don't have the creativity to do that but I am amazed at how things turn out. Love new ideas! You will love that ironing table.
