Looking for a pattern with a cross
#1
A very special place to me, the Blue Mountain Christian Retreat, tragically burned to the ground in November. I am doing a blog of the re-building process. Oh, here's a link to the blog, in case anyone's interested: http://bmcr.weebly.com/ It sat on a beautiful hillside surrounded by forests.
I've been oo-ing and awww-ing at many pictures of the gorgeous bargello quilts on the Board. I'm just wondering, has anyone ever seen a pattern for one with a cross incorporated into it?
If I can't find a specific pattern for this one, I'd also be very interested in any pattern incorporating a cross. I really think it would be wonderful to make a quilt to donate for the new building. I would have plenty of time to work on it, as they haven't yet firmed up a new plan.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

This looks a cross. I think it could very easily be adapted to what you want.

Here's something I found ... hope it helps ... sorry to hear about your church, however God will provide and I am sure it will be rebuilt better than before ...

What a tragic loss. No doubt, amazing stories will come from the rebuilding.
Although I've done several quilts with a cross theme for retreats (formerly NCNY Walk to Emmaus, now known as Closer Walk), none of them invloved bargello piecing. I agree that the cherry blossom one posted looks like it could be adapted by somebody familiar with bargellos.
Good luck - can't wait to see where God leads you.

The strange thing is that I can actually see a picture of this quilt in my mind's eye. Vibrant colors (with floral patterns) with a white cross in the middle.
Dumb question, but is it possible to actually MAKE a pattern for this? Maybe one of the quilting software programs if it's not possible to do with pencil and paper?

I've been rooting through my sewing room and found an old Clotilde catalog. I found a picture that would maybe give an idea of what I'm looking for. Who knows, maybe there actually IS a pattern out there.
This one is a table runner with the white center and butterflies, but if you can imagine a smaller wall hanging with the cross being white, that's what I'd love to find.
Trina :)

Trina,
So sad about what happened. Here is a site for a cross quilt wall hanging, it isn't free, but not that expensive. I made one and it wasn't very hard, just lots of little squares. Here is a picture of it....
