Default Looking for a star block pattern...

I saw a star quilt block that was made from someone's leftover HSTs. It has only 2 fabrics -- print and background. The center is a print snowball, and the HSTs make the star points. But there's like a background sashing between the snowball and the star points. I thought it would be easy to find, but I've been searching for about a week and can't find it. Anyone have any ideas?

We've had a few pictures of "Tennessee Waltz" lately and a thread on the 54-40 or Fight block which is the star block.

Here's one the threads, that was done with a 9-patch variation instead of the snowball.

Here's mine which is one of my rare planned quilts instead of scrappy.

Beautiful quilts! But not what I'm looking for.

Here's a sketch. But the thing that is throwing me off is that this would use quarter square triangles, not half square triangles. By the time I turn my HSTs into QSTs they'll be pretty small. And the "sashing" around the snowball is uneven. That doesn't seem right. Also, the center snowball was proportionately larger. I'm doing a lot of scribbling and erasing.

This one is different but sort of matches your description.

Your picture looks like a combination of Ohio Star and Snowball.

Maybe you're thinking of Sunrise Star.

Check also Twisted Star or Sunburst.
