I am getting ready to make my grown son a quilt. His home is all done in western style. I just can't seem to find any good patterns and am not real sure where to look. I thought about doing the rail quilt, but not sure if that would really look western. I want to thank you ahead of time for any information or ideas you can share!

Judi check out this site. If you scroll about 1/2 way down the page there are several different links for FREE western quilt patterns. Hope this helps you. crafty_linda_b

You could use a simple pattern and go for western fabrics! My friend made this gorgeous quilt, the blue fabrics have cowboy silhouettes, and the black fabric has horseshoes. It's very masculine, too.

Great patterns here. Mostly southwest (New Mexico), but there might be something you like.
I plan to do a turning twenty around the block using horse, cowboy, etc., fabric.

That is a beautiful quilt your friend made and I love the colors.

Judi,
I made a 'Turning Twenty Again' quilt and used all western fabric - that's 20 different western fat quarters. It is a manly, western looking quilt.

Try to google "Pieces of the West", you should get a pic.

It's a wonderful quilt. I bought the pattern just a couple of months ago in Oklahoma. May be you like it.

What about using denim and bandana prints on whatever pattern you use.
