Has anyone use 100% warm and natural batting instead of wrap and zap in the bowl covers?

If you are referring to the bowl holders, I always use warm and white. I haven’t heard of any problems. I do think the time in the microwave needs to be limited to warm ups.

On their FAQ page, the Warm Company's answer to the question, "Is it safe to put Warm and Natural or Warm and White in the microwave?" is

"The Warm Company does not recommend cotton batting, polyester batting or blended batting for microwave use. Cotton batting, cotton fabric and cotton threads are flammable. Patterns recommending the use of Warm & Natural, Warm & White or Warm & Plush for microwave use are doing so without the consent of The Warm Company."

Pellon makes Wrap and Zap. Their website says
Pellon®’s Wrap-N-Zap® is a microwave safe product is made of 100% Natural Cotton Batting. When used in the microwave, it will trap the moisture inside to produce a perfect baked potato or a well steamed ear of corn. It can even be used for warming rolls and tortillas.
They say not to use it in the microwave without food.

mem is correct. The batting used in W&N is 100% cotton, but it is needled to a very thin poly scrim. The warm company used to market a microwaveable batt, but discontinued it. The pellon product is what you need to use. Even then, you want to make sure everything is cotton, fabric, batt & thread. Be wary of fabric with glitter or metallics.

If I remember correctly, the Warm Company quit making a batt for microwaving after having so many reports of microwave fires. Their product for that purpose was 100% cotton (unlike W&N and W&W) but there were fires anyway, and they didn't want the liability. A pot holder works well for taking a hot dish out of the microwave without the danger of causing a fire. You can then place the dish into a fabric bowl if you want it to look pretty, and that fabric bowl can use any type of batting. Just never place it in the microwave.

If you look at the Warm and Natural label it is 12.5% polypropylene...you don't want to us this in the microbe! Pelion makes a product NB90 100% cotton no scrim (I think that's what the label says). I've made many bowls with this.
