I have had quite a few Vikings. Have quilted on Platinum, Diamond and now Epic. All have done a fine job. I guess you need to drive them and find the one that feels best to you. Happy hunting, a new machine is exciting.

Have a Janome 7700 and it is a work horse...does beautiful free motion work as well....just purchased a Viking Ruby Royale and love it as well and can do the embroidery work with the Ruby...either choice is great...the Royale is on sale till the end of this month with a very nice discount.

    I think it's personal preference.

You may have made your decision about which machine but when I bought mine (Viking and also Babylock), my decision was based on whether or not the shop for service was convenient. I love my Viking -- always gives a beautiful stitch no matter what you're doing. But my Babylock is wonderful too. (I think the Brother is a less expensive version of Babylock -- could be wrong.) I started with Brother before I got Babylock & the feet, etc are interchangeable. Good luck with your decision. :-)

I a Janome girl and have a 9400 now. Like Justme&you said make sure you have a dealer close. I am lucky that I have a good dealer close by. I would also say buy the machine with the largest throat space you can afford.

I love my Pfaff. It's not on your list but it is the best one for me.
