Default Machine needle size for Valdani cotton perle #8

I have some Valdani #8 thread that I planned to use to hand applique: however, I was wondering if there is a sewing machine needle that would accommodate this thread for wool applique?
Thanks

No, you wouldn't want to use it as a top thread on a machine. You wouldn't be able to get a good stitch with something like that. And you might damage the hook trying.

But you could use it in the bobbin to do bobbin work. You'd probably have to wind it on the bobbin by hand. One of the ladies I work with put the Valdani #8 thread in the bobbin on the HandiQuilter and did a hand embroidery design with it, and it actually looked pretty good.

Thankyou for your guidance.

Bobbin work ... Thanks for the reminder... I always forget about that technique

You could also use it for couching.
