I personally would not pay that price for the extended. I also do most of my own servicing and if something comes up that I cannot fix myself, I call a repair service to come and check it for $25 and then decide if it can be fixed or just set into my collection and I go online to buy a new machine. My repair guy is very good about telling people if the machine is worth fixing. Most the time he reccommends getting a new machine as so many are now plastic and computer.

I have numerous Janomes, dating back 30 years, i,have never had a machine in for service or repair. I Service my machines when needed.i have janome HD9V2, love it. It is a straight stitch mechanical. I would not purchase the service plan. I would clean and oil myself. Put that money away for your next machine. All of my other Janomes are computerized. I clean and oil the wick and shaft on those.
