Default making charity tote bags and just remembered I could use the upholstery machine!

making some charity tote bags for my guild to give to a local facility for foster care kids and suddenly dawned on me that it would be much easier to use my Consew commercial upholstery machine! I rarely use it--bought from son when he was needing $$ and not doing any car upholstery. worked this afternoon and got 4 bags done--that old Consew just zipped through the bat/strip sets/handles with no problem. Had to remember to oil before I started cause haven't used for at least 5 months.

would post a pic, but frankly, the strip sets I used were from what I planned to use for a Ricky Tims Kool Kaleidascope quilt but then decided that it would NOT work--way too chaotic! But perfect to use for totes for special needs kids--lots of brights.

I bet that industrial machine zips right through the upholstery fabric.

What a great idea! Maybe you should let the ladies at the guild know you have it and have an assembly line going.

The right tool always makes a job easier. Your machine sounds perfect for making totes, especially if you have several to do at a time.

What a great idea to use that machine. And how thoughtful and generous you are for making the bags. I'm sure they are appreciated!
