Default Using felt in a quilt top

Has anyone ever used felt for a quilt top that will be laundered fairly regularly?

I'm making a quilt for my niece's 4 yr old bday, and one of the blocks I want to make minnie mouse ears, and I think felt is the closest fabric to the real thing, but I'm concerned that it will fall apart in the wash. Any ideas?

Felt fibers are pressed together not woven , and do not wash well. Consider using ultra suede .

IF you can't find another fabric that will work, go to a store like Joann fabrics and ask for their help choosing. There are alot of fabrics you can use but do NOT use felt. (not even the washable type as it won't hold up to alot of washings for what you want). Good Luck.

If you have a Hancocks they have a butter suede that doesn't ravel and is inexpensive.
