    Default Marathon Thread

Anyone ever use the brand of thread Marathon? If so, do you like it? I bought a cone at a quilt show and it seems a little thick for 40 wt. Thought I'd ask opinions before I start quilting with it.

Sorry never heard of it. Was it a good price?

Thread weights are determined in a variety of ways, so thread weight actually doesn't tell us much anymore about a particular thread. There was a great "thread" here awhile back with lots of great links to why this is so. If I can find it, I will post it.

I use their poly embroidery thread all the time. I've also used their cotton 40 wt and it seems about the same as other brands to me.

I use the 40 wt poly embroidery thread. Really nice thread and priced competitive. Use it on both my Quattro and my 10 needle. I have never had a problem. I have talked to the folks in the office and have had wonderful customer service. I just received their 60 wt embroidery and need to get busy and try it out.

Thanks! I started quilting with it and it seems to be doing well. And I did get a good price.

I've used it to emb with and like it. Now I have a serger and there are many different ones from Marathon and I like them as well. They add different textures and style to your project.
