Quiltzilla

I bought a three pack of the FriXion pens a couple of days ago. The colors of the pens that I bought are orange, pink and purple. I played with the to see how well the worked. The orange and pink disappear completely when heated, but the purple does not. I am hoping to get the black FriXion soon. I'll let you know how they work once I know. It is fun to put things in the freezer to bring back the color.

Ohhh... be careful to keep these away from your other pens - wouldn't want someone to accidentally write a check with one of these!! Otherwise they sound interesting, will have to watch for them.

I got some at Walgreens and then bought red, black and blue at Staples. 3 for 5.49. I also bought the first one at a
quilt show last month. paid 4.00 for it.

i had one of the blue water-disappearing pens ruin a beautiful old pink and white quilt, every since then i will not use anything except pencil and chalk, and i test every time. i try to not have to mark my fabrics, if i am doing applique or hand piecing i mark at 1/8" instead of 1/4" then i know i have to stitch exactly 1/8" inside my mark. i still have the line to follow but if the pencil is not going to come out it is not going to be visible. those new pens are cool looking and if i see one somewhere i will probably buy it and try it. i do not use them ever on my quilts but i will try it for something else, like a table runner or something.

If you wash the quilt after it is done quilting, won't the marks wash away?

whooo boy finaly a great fabric marking penset if they dont ghost, then they will turn the fabric marking world on its bum.

I read on a tip section somewhere that if you mix a small amount of Bakinbg Soda in a spray bottle with water, the blue dissappears more effiently than with just water.

My question is if you mark the quilt. Do you have to iron the quilt with in a few hours/ minutes? Or can it be left in for a week or 2? I have a sick husband and some times I have to leave my quilt for a week or more and not get back to it. Any in put?
