Marshall Dry Goods
DH and I are taking a little road trip this week during spring break. Our 50th anniversary is Friday. We went to Dallas Quilt Show last Saturday then on to Arkansas. We stopped at Marshall Dry Goods in Batesville and I could have stayed all day looking at all the fabric, love the place. I did find some fabric for a particular project and also bought 2 pieces of wide fabric for backing. Their prices are great. We drove on to Branson and went to the Baldnobbers show this evening and laughed our heads off, it is a great show. We are going to stop in Tulsa and visit our son then backtrack to Fort Smith, AR where are DGD is expecting her third baby any day now. We are hoping she has it before Friday and we have to head back home.

I live about 45 minutes from Marshall's and it is a great store. I spend hours there every week. I have never been able to walk in there and buy everything I want for a quilt project. BUT over a period of weeks, months and sometimes a couple of years I have found everything I want. You just can't be in a hurry. The best thing about Marshall's is all the interesting and nice people you meet there. I have lunch with a few ladies every other month when they come from southern Illinois to shop. I am always amazed at the number of people who drive 200=300 miles to shop there. Within a 100 miles north of your daughter there are several neat quilt/fabric shops such as the Rabbits Lair, Mockingbird Moon, Country House Quilting, Stitches and More, Sew a Stitch, Busy Needle, Quilt Corner and probably more that I don't know about. Sounds like a wonderful anniversary trip. Congratulations on 50 years.
