Can I get input on what pattern my 12 year old should be looking at making. She wants to make one. She quilts so I think she can handle it.
    Something cool -
    Thanks in advance.

D9P, use some really cool wild fabrics for the corners of the 9 patch.

OOps, just reread your post. Purse, not quilt!!! Messenger bag, they are real popular with the younger set here in midwest.

Alot will depend on what she likes. I tried second guessing the 12 y/o in my life and she was ok with it but really liked another one better that I would have never dreamed she would pick. They change their minds so quickly at that age!

Take a look at this pattern, I know it seems a little pricey but you get the handle with the pattern. The cool part is she can make different purses to go with different outfits.

I would go with Lazy Girl, too. She has several smallish bags that would probably suit a young girl. There are some good construction videos on Carol Woods site.
One of my DDs' favorites is the Chelsea bag.
