I am interested that this quilt goes to muesum or decendants of signers before i pass away. My kids will make it a cat bed item.
Anna Lee Davis Quilt
Anna Lee came from MO in the 1930s to marry Mr. Tom Davis in Indiana
Her friends in Mo sent a friendship quilt with her, approx. full size.
She told me that it meant a great deal to her and how much she missed her friends
Quilt appears to be circa 1930s but that is just my best guess. No label
Friends signing in embroidery are: [?s are the last name spellings] Anna Lee Davis passed away in 1980s
at age 83. Quilt was purchased at her estate sale in 1988.

Very nice quilt! We're having a Quilt Registration activity locally in about 2 weeks. Perhaps that would be a first step for you to get the quilt documented by the state. Check with your local quilt guild for more information!

I would contact a museum in St. Louis or Columbia (maybe the University). They will know the best place for it to keep it in Missouri. It should stay there if possible.

Sometimes I wish there weren't those of us in hiding, it would make it easier to help (but I understand why we choose that option).

Try googling "Quilt Documentation Projects" for one in your state.

Also, try http://www.allianceforamericanquilts.org/

And you might consider leaving the quilt to a local/regional museum of history -- where the quilt was made, I mean -- so that the names on it might be remembered by viewers.

The museum will likely request an appraisal which you can get usually for less than $50 from any AQS certified quilt appraiser in your area. Google American Quilters Society for a list.

I'm sorry about your fall and incapacity, what a difficult thing to live with, I sure. :cry:

I didn't mean to push you to post your locale But I'm glad you did, because you're likely to find even more friends here when they find you are close by. :-)

society in Columbia maintains a guide to local hist societies in the state. I know there are museums around Joplin and springfield.
