Default Is more quilting necessary here?

I'm making a red & white quilt, and I'm using Quilters Dream Puff batting which says "Stitch or tie up to 10" apart. My question is this: There is quilting within 5" of every spot on the quilt, but if you look, for example where the black line is drawn, that line is longer than 10" and there's no quilting along it, however, there is quilting at less than 5" from every place along that line. Is this OK, or do I need to add more quilting?

Just my opinion but I think your fine. If you had 10" square I think it would make a difference. Yours is "anchored across" so I think it would hold. I'm interested to see what others think also.

I agree w/toverly. I think you will be fine. I use W&N which also says quilting up to 10" apart. The quilt I'm currently on is a Hunter's Star and I'm only quilting in the large triangles and I think I'll be fine. I think yours is closer than what I am doing.

I quilt no less than every 3-4" no matter what the package says. My belief is after washing it may lump.

The white corners look to me like they could use something to keep from bagging.

If it's a puffy batting, you will get a softer quilt with less quilting... so I think you are fine.

I would add just a little more quilting. Many battings say every 10" but I have found after awhile it begans to bunch in the 10" spaces. Love your quilt. Brenda
