Default More ?'s on Half Square Triangles

I got great responses on my previous post about HST's, but I now have another question:
Which method do YOU prefer to use...
1. Cut a square, draw a diagonal line corner to corner, sew 1/4" on either side, cut on the line, press open;
OR
2. Cut the triangles and sew them together on the bias (like Bonnie Hunter demos in her clip).
Thanks for your responses!

I always use method number 1 - cut the squares, draw a line and sew on either side. Think I get more accurate HST's that way.

I use method 1 - although if I had an accuquilt - I might use #2.

This is the way I make mine too. Less chance of distortion.

I use method 1. It seems to work best for me and much quicker.

Thanks, y'all! I have always used the first method as well, having been taught to never sew on a cut bias edge if you can help it. Then, I watched Bonnie Hunter's clip and wondered what everyone else did. Any way, thanks again!

#1 also. You can cut multiples easily that way, too.

I've used both methods but I've also used the pre-printed papers where you put the two fabrics right sides together and pin the paper. Then, just sew on the lines. If I have a lot of triangles to make, that method is easier for me because I don't have to the the time to draw the line down the middle.

Neither. I like using Triangulations software and paper.
