I worked in an emergency room, a Level I trauma center. This is the mantra I recited for my kids. "Helmet alive. No helmet dead . . . Or worse!"

I love this! Now, there's a woman breaking molds. I want to be like you when I grow up.

Helmets are not required in Florida either, I told ex-husband if he was wearing his helmet and had an accident, I would stand by him, as long as he needed, if he wasn't wearing his helmet, I would walk away and leave him on the spot. (No, that's not why he's my ex) My best girlfriend was riding without her helmet, lost control, crashed and 3 days later died. Left behind a 10 year old son. I truly do believe in freedom of choice, but I think we should consider the consequences also.

Please wear a helmut. A man I worked with and his wife went out for a short drive and she didn't wear her helmut. A pickup truck came out of nowhere and they hit it. He had a broken shoulder, but his wife, three years later, is still in a coma. His and his children and grandchildren suffer daily. Please reconsider the helmut.

I love, love, love the pictures and riding a Harley with a sewing machine strapped to the back. Thanks for sharing.

As the Harley quote says,"if I have to explain you wouldn't understand"

Sometimes I wear one and sometimes I don't.....
Well said. I ride and though I use a helmet most of the time I don't begrudge my husband (or any other rider) that rarely or never does.
