I have made a LOT of rice bags over the years and always put a little tag card on them with the poem "this little pillow filled with rice .....", so I'm getting ready to jump on the Mug Rug "band wagon" (LOL) and thought they should have a little poem too. Sooo ----

A place for coffee, water, pop or tea
Whenever you use it, think of me.
Extra room for a little treat
Be it fruit or veggies or something sweet.

Anybody that has better wording can jump right in and help me with this.
    WHAT DO YOU THINK???

Great idea ... otherwise some may be puzzled when they get it!

What size are you making your Mug Rugs?

It's perfect. I used another one that someone on the board wrote and it was cute too. But this one explains the purpose better. I hope you will allow us to use it on ours.

Well OF COURSE, everybody can use it. I'm humbled. If anybody has ideas for changes, post it... I used to post the rice bags ones on blank business cards and attached them.

What was the complete poem you used for the rice bags? That just sounds so perfect for gift giving when you can provide a cute little poem.

This little pillow filled with rice is such a comforting device,
Microwave for 2 or 3 minutes on HIGH
and kiss those aces and pains good-bye.
Apploy it to a troubled spot, the heat will ease the pain alot.
or warm those little toes, so cold.
Youo'll find this nice to have and to hold.
Or freeze it for while, and fix that boo-boo in style.
Instead of a compress made of ice, use this pillow filled with rice.

I will share this with you but please whoever wrote it I am not trying to take credit for the poem. I did a search and can't seem to find it. I used it on the 3 dozen I made and gave for Christmas gifts this year.

I could have made a bigger quilt,
    I'm willing and I'm able
But instead I made this tiny quilt
    To save your lovely table.
So when you are drinking something hot
And want to rest your mug
    Remember that your special cup
Now has it's own little rug.

If the person who wrote this reads this please take credit. Thanks.

That's a good idea for the rice.Never thought of putting it in freezer, I use it for heat mostly.Although mice like the rice too, so a friend showed me to use an old mens [email protected] with popcorn.Warm up in microwave for 3 min, take out, cool completely. Then when cold u can stick in microwave for longer.Keep's warm for awhile..

    Thanks for all the verses!!

As I was driving today, I was thinking of Mug Rugs done, rolled up and tied with ribbon ... then one placed at each place at Christmas Dinner instead of Christmas Crackers. Or used for table favours at any event!

Question .... what size are you people finding best for your Mug Rugs? Also for the pockets?

    Please? and Thanks!
