Shari, good for you! I hope you have loads of fun with it.
I have to admit something here. I'm so intimated by any kind of longarm. Yours doesn't look too daunting though. I'll be looking out for your remarks on it.
Merry Christmas to you and all on the board!

Fun! fun! Fun! I think we all should give ourselves a Christmas gift once in awhile. I mean, how many doggie socks, and bags of potting soil can one receive on Christmas morning?

I love the size of the frame. It might even fit into my small sewing space. I might have to look into that. Maybe I'll give myself one for Christmas too.

Maybe you need to gift yourself a newer machine that IS compatible. You never can have too many sewing machines. Just a thought.

You might want to see if the Grace Speed Controller will work with your machine. It only lets you regulate your speed and on/off of machine on handles and you don't have to use the foot pedal. You can call technical support and they will help you determine if it will work with your machine and it is relatively inexpensive. https://graceframe.com/en/product/speed-control

I've looked at these a couple times, but for the love of me can't get it through my head how to get the quilting lines to match up once you have to move the quilt around. Once you get some practice in doing it please take the time to explain it to us all.

I certainly will. I have managed to get the quilt on the frame and mark my quilting area. I am waiting on an open toe presser foot before I do any FMQ. Right now, I am just moving the carriage around to get a feel for the motion and how much area I have for quilting.

A big oops on my part. I don't have the stitch regulation but the Grace Speed Controller. I have it for my Juki 2020. No foot pedal needed. The stitch regulation cost doesn't make sense to buy for my small hoop frame. The speed controller also has thread cutter button if your machine has one. The cost was reasonable for my set up. I recommend it if your machine is compatible.

Onebyone- do you mean the Juki 2010?? I thought we had the same machine but I could be wrong.

So I managed to FMQ my first row this afternoon. I was just using my embroidery foot which works, it is just very small and hard to see what I am doing. I did find a video on what to do when I reach the end of my quilting area and all I had to do was unclamp the quilt leaving one on the take up rail and shift the sandwich to the left, then re-clamp. I am struggling with bringing up the bobbin thread at the end of the line though. I'll figure it out as this is just a practice quilt.
