Can it be operated dry or does it always generate steam? Thanks!

I do garment sewing also, and love my press for applying interfacing to the facing pieces, and things like that. You can do a whole facing piece at once instead of having to life and move the iron several times. I've had mine for probably 20 years (it is also a Singer) and love it.

I also have an Elna and really like it to press blocks so they are nice and flat.

I have one of these and I love it.

It can be used either with steam or dry and the bed rotates to allow for pressing vertically or laterally (on the table - not standing up).

It eliminates exhausting back and forth arm movements.

Is great for ALL types of fabrics and DOES BLOCKs JUST GREAT!!!! Thank you.

Start out slowly testing different settings and fabrics until you get to know the machine and how it irons - then, YOU'LL LOVE IT.

    Good luck and enjoy.
