I'm glad you were so successful.
My husband and I moved to a retirement community in March, and I have just participated in my first craft sale. I went whole hog and made 40 items. About half of them sold, and now I am more aware of what people want.
Items I sold included bags to attach to walkers, pocket -size wallets, hand towels with machine-embroidered holiday messages on the borders, plastic grocery bag holders, and 3-cornered Japanese gift bags.
What didn't sell went into the gift shop for sale.
I will get 90% of the sales prices.

Good for you!
I'm curious, though, since you said it was a flea market, did you find a lot of people expected you to dicker on the price?

No, only one said my prices were 'out of her price range' and shes new to the area. Small town, you get to know everyone!

That's good. In my area, people expect flea market finds to be old, used, or "seconds," so they always expect you to come down on price. That's why we never sold our wood crafts at flea markets.

what a wonderful and very appreciated way to enjoy what you are doing and making a bit to spent it on what you need or saving for. Since my time is limited for serious quilting time, I have found several quite easy patterns that can be nmade to a table runner size, lap quilt or wall hanging. I think it's just a matter of using the color and the way it would please someone in the best possible way. I have several items already made that I feel are nice enough to sell. Of course there are Christmas gifts that are all home made, but the extra money can also go towards the things that you just can't put under the foot. Were you just having a private sale or was it held at a special function? And good for you.
