That is amazingly life-like! Very nice work. I'm sure he is as touched as he is proud of your quilt.

[quote=stitches_ia]This is a picture of my Dad that I did through a class at Quilt University with Marilyn Belford a couple of years ago. I hope you like it and will check it out on the Quilting Gallery this weekend. It was a challenging experience but I'm glad I made it as Dad really likes it.

Bravo! Well done.
I totally admire clever artistic people who can do things like this.
I can make patterns from a photo and I can follow instructions but cannot draw to save myself. I figure this is why I'm not too good at FMQ. But I haven't given up. When I find a spare 5 minutes I'd like to do a course on learning to draw.

No wonder I feel so inadequate. Your quilt is beyond words, I can't even make my blocks square, maybe I'll take up drinking an be good at that, lol

You did an amazing job!! You should be so proud!
I was in Marilyn's first class at Q.U. and I still haven't finished mine :( I think this was the best class I have ever taken there. I even met Marilyn in Houston a few years ago when she had a quilt in the show. Wonderful person!
