August 23, 2010 – Freedom Star Block #33 – Birthday Star Block

This is the first paper pieced project I have ever tried. It was harder than I thought it would be and I learned you really have to continue past the printed lines in some spots but NOT in others, lol. I was amazed it turned out so well.

I'm in the boomerang 5 swap and I wanted to try it out first before I used someone else's fabric.

If you go to page 42 (i think) of the boomerang 5 east swap page, you'll see all the wonderful blocks I've received so far.

I chose the blue with stars as one of my main fabrics to try and make a patriotic quilt for (hopefully) a raffle later this fall.
