Your quilting looks great. I have gone around some pins and even through some.
I need to do your method as I stop just as I get going good and remove pins. I use the large pins, easier for me to remove.
Thanks for sharing, I am always looking for something to give me a better way or better looks.

That's exactly what I do, KenmoreGal. I wasn't aware that it was cheating, though!

Maybe cheating isn't the exact word.....but all the tutes I watched show the person taking out the pins as they go along. That would annoy me to no end. I like to get a "groove going" and hate to have to stop.

I sometimes do that around designs in the fabric, not pins (I spray baste). It does help keep the design consistent.

What a great looking quilt & fantastic idea to quilt around the pins. I love it when I find good tips on this board. Thanks for sharing your discovery with us!

I don't think you are cheating. If I've learned anything about this quilting hobby/obsession it is this: everyone seems to take a lot of information and skill and combine them in whatever form seems to work best for him/her. You've achieved a level of success in your quilting endeavors which make a lot of us very envious.

Bree123....I may be off subject here, but what is a wash-away thread and where do you purchase it?
