This is for my son's college roommate/teammate. They played baseball together since 4th grade and went to/played college together the last 2 years. The colors in the braid are for his high school and the 5 colleges he attended. His mom and I watched those boys together for 8 years and she passed away 2 years ago.
I just got it back from the long-armer. I chose an open spiky-curly all over pattern. (I've GOT to get one of those machines!) I bought so many black and whites that didn't make the cut for the braid run, that I had enough to piece the entire back. I think I like it almost as much as the front! I just trimmed and squared and couldn't wait to post it. It still needs it's black on black binding and label. The label will have to say something like "For Kevin. My son loves you and I loved your mom."

There goes my black and white stash!

I love those colors! I haven't done a french braid quilt yet, but they are so nice I am going to have to do one.
