I bought the original ones the woman use to make. It cost a little over $100. I love it. In fact, the wooden box is exactly like mine. Exactly! Except mine is stained. I like the paint better. Can I just paint over stain? The trick to closing it is to hold the bottom and the side and flick your right wrist fast. Hold on to the roller lightly or it'll roll up into itself. I love mine. I have all my blocks from last year's Craftsy 2013 BOM on it and they have been rolled up for a few months and they aren't wrinkled at all. The gal that use to make them, closed down. I heard she was trying to sell her business to her daughters. I hope she does. It's a great idea for people who want to buy it already made, like me.

My shelf was stained. I sanded it down quite a bit, and then I used 2 coats of latex Kilz on it and then 2 coats of the paint, which is paint/primer in one from Behr.

Thank you! I will look into for my extra large design wall. I'm sure it will be very handy

It's made by Maywood Studios. I found the selvages when I was cleaning up.

This is really ingenious. I have a small area that can't support the size of a lap quilt because of a window near it. This would work if I mounted it over the area and window. I can pull it down when I need it and roll it up for the light from the window. Kinda the best of both worlds. Now to look for the pieces I need.
