Since I dislocated my sholder this past winter it has been very hard for me to cut fabric with a regular light weight ruler as I can't put much pressure on my arm with out lots of pain. My hubby made me a bar of angle iron the size of yard stick a half inch thick and now I don't have to hold and press down so hard any more when cutting the fabric strips. It isn't marked like a ruler but it sure helps to hold the fabric down with less effort.

Necessity is the Mother of Invention!!!

Or was that prevention on your DHs part? .... so he wouldn't have to start cutting for you? :)

Great idea! What a nice DH you have...I have always wished the rulers were a little heavier so they wouldn't move so easily when I don't have a sore shoulder!
