My little quilter has a birthday coming up
#1
So my daughter's birthday is coming up and she will be officially 6. She really wants a sewing machine and I feel she deserves one. I don't want to get her a toy, seeing as she's started her 3rd quilt and really has a gift for quilting. She's been practicing free motion quilting...WOW! Any ideas on a good machine for about $100.00? I will say, she's works on my expensive machine and she is very mature and respectful while sewing.

The "Hello Kitty" is a 3/4-size Janome. Target and Sears online both have it for about $110 (as does Overstock.com). Here is a link to one:

There is another "Hello Kitty" that is a 1/2-size version for less money and is not recommended.
If she would prefer, I think you can get basically the same machine in plain white at Sears for about the same cost.
The 3/4 size Janome is a real machine, not a toy. The Gem series of Janome machines is similar but come with more bells and whistles and a higher price.

You might go to your local sewing machine company. They usually have used machine pretty low priced. I have bought three used Janomes and one Brenina from a sewing machine company. They had serviced all of them and they work great. The last Janome was fairly new and it was about 125.00 the others were 50.00-75.00
