Default My new french braid ... with a twist!

I found this on pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/353673376958742295/

I absolutely love it, the ONLY problem I am running into are those dang triangles LOL ... I'm doing it in black and white, but the red squares aren't red ... the big X will be made up of pink going from one corner to the other, and the other one will be purple, and then the top and bottom v's will be blue, and the left and right v's will be green ... in gradations of light to dark. Everything's all cut, 4 of the french braids are sewn, but I can't get the triangles to work ... ARGGHHHH!!!!!

That is going to be pretty. I would over cut the triangles and trim down.

Will love to see your quilt when finished, as I really like this pattern and prefer your colour scheme. The red is very striking with black and white, but I could'nt live with it.

What is the problem with your triangles- or just with blending the colour?

My triangles are too small or it looks lopsided I think I'm going to do what CJsews said and just make them really big and cut them after. I'll post pics tomorrow when I have more done

Beautiful quilt as is, but I would love to see your colorway. Please post a picture as soon as you have it done. We're here to cheer you on! Waiting with anticipation - Susan in Texas

P.S. I agree with oversizing the triangle and cutting to fit.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest---oversize them slightly, sew them on, and square up the blocks.
