I echo the suggestion to join the Yahoo group. I barely go there now, but when I first got my 6600, it was very helpful.

Enjoy your machine!! I love mine.

I TRIED THE YAHOO GROUP BUT IT WAS SO CONFUSING, AND I GOT TONS OF E-MAILS THAT DIDN'T MEAN MUCH. MAYBE I DIDN'T DO IT RIGHT. JUST MY THOUGHTS.

I think Janome's are great. I have the 3160 for travel the 11000SE and the MB4. Great machines and never have any problems.

I had a Janome 350E. I wore that thing out. I have had 2 of them, and finally moved up to the Memory Craft 9500. I now have 2 of them and keep them both running most of the time.
They are so user friendly!

There are a couple of recurring problems that you may want to be aware of so you dont think your machine is broken. One is that every so often the thread jumps out of the take up lever and creates chaos and bad words til you realize what is wrong. The other is that it seems to have a hard time going over bulky intersections. There is a new foot O2 that helps with this problem. The Yahoo group knows a lot more about this machine than most dealers do!
I have a 6600 and have had problems sewing through many thicknesses of fabric/batting (I make handbags). I'll look into the 02 foot, which might help. Thanks for the hint!

The other issue (thread jumping out of the take-up lever) I was aware of, but the solution is easy (bring the thread up to the left and then down to the right so that it loops around the lever).

Another point...my machine seems to run better since I started using Bottom Line thread in the bobbin.

On the yahoo group site you can set the way you get messages. Under "manage" you will then see a list of the groups you are subscribed to and at the far left column you will see "edit my groups" click on that then you will see on the far right "message delivery" the select eiather special notices or no email. Either one will eliminate emails so you can just read the topics uou want. Lots of Janome info there.

I have one and love it! Do you have any specific questions I can help with? I've had mine for about two years now and it's a real pleasure to use.
