I bought a 34-pack at office max when I had rward points, so didn't pay a thing for them. I have used the red one several times already and love how the markings just iron off. However, I have found that the ink in the pen does not last very long as the red one that I have been using seems to be getting rather hard to see an is running out of ink. Even if the marks do reappear after they get cold, you can always wither put the quilt in the dryer or iron and the markings will disappear.

I marked a couple of lines a a couple pieces of fabric. I then Ironed them and then placed in the freezer. The only line that came back was the black. The Blue and red did not reappear. I was going to wash them and then place them back in the freezer to see what happens.

I purchased these pens from Target about 6 months ago. They are fantastic!!! I love that they can be ironed away leaving no trace!!

I think it has been over a year if not 2 years since I've tried these pens and I love them. I use them even for marking the back square for half square triangles. Glad you finally found them. Enjoy

Thanks for the info...I never thought to look at Staples. Where in the store would I find them and what are they called if you don't mind telling.

Amazon.com review says it may leave a white line on dark fabric. Anyone have this experience. I am new to quilting and learning new things every day thanks to all of you!

I have read many mixed reviews about the marks coming back and are afraid to use them. My favorite is still the Crayola Washable Markers that wash out very easily. The only thing I don't like about them is if you make a mistake with your marking you can't just spray water on it and have it disappear, it runs instead but when put in the washer they wash out completely.

I am really interested in this topic. I find that when I use the pens made for quilting on white material.....it is not good. I have marks left on the fabric and washing does not help at all in getting them out. I have been fortunate because it has been only DQ that I have marked so at least I didn't ruin a big quilt. My instructor for our quilt class suggested using crayola washable markers. Now that was a scary thought but she says that it washes right out.
