Could it be that the unit seems heavy due to it's overall size? 22 x 28 inches?
That is bulky.

I wouldn't be without mine. I waste no more!!! I don't find a problem at all with getting around it. I set it on the end of my cutting table and away I go. Let me know what you think of it after you have used it a couple of times. You will wonder why you waited so long to get it. Enjoy it, I sure do mine. I cut bargello quilts out in less then an hour.
