    I remember these too - my grandmother was a seamstress by trade, and this is what she used, so I did too, sometimes I only could get the double edged ones, so I covered one edge with tape. Thanks for the memories!

    You can get them at a paint store for a widget, Single edge razor blades.

    they are single edge razor blades. I still buy them at walmart.

    I use Exacto Knives. It's basically the same idea as a single-edged razor blade, except that it has a handle on it. A little more pricey, too, I suppose.

    The ones I buy are a little longer and narrower. I get them at Sally's Beauty Supply. I use them in my hair cutting razor and when they get too dull for cutting hair I use them as seam rippers.

    yep!! single edge razor blades. That is what I was taught to use at 10 yrs old. the horror of giving a 10 yr old a razor blade today!!!!! you can get them in the shaving dept at the drug store or groc. store or Lowe's, etc where the paint scrapers are. I use them in the scraper for stuff stuck to my stove top. works great. the stove top came with one, so dont fuss at me for using it there.
