Default Mylar in Quilts

Hello, I acquired some cute embroidery designs that use this new fangle stuff called "mylar" shiny and/or glittery stuff in place of fabric (applique). I'd love to use it in a baby quilt I'm working on but don't know whether it would hold up in the numerous washings. Has anyone used it in a quilt (not wall hanging) and have washed it a number of times? I asked the company I purchased these items from and they couldn't tell me. I know someone here has probably tried it so came to the experts.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions/advice.

I cut up a mylar balloon to use for applique on my grand's super hero cape. It's still on there. I knew the cape wasn't going to be a keep forever thing so I didn't think about the long term.

I have no idea. But, I bet it would hold up if the recipient places it in a pillow case to be washed and dried.

My Mom machine embroidered/appliqued a t-shirt for me with mylar in the design. (The design is from Purely Gates.) I have washed it many times and it is holding up fine. The designs stitch loosely over the mylar so that it is tacked down but still shows. I usually put my t-shirts in the dryer for just a few minutes then hang them to finish drying, but I think her shirts are left in until they are fully dry and, last I heard, hers were holding up as well.

Thanks to all who replied. I've also broached the sites that sell this stuff. Seems there are two products that are similar. Angeline and Mylar. One seems to work better than the other but I'm thinking since the quilts will not be washed as often as regular clothing, the mylar that I have will work okay. I decided not to add as many designs as planned though.
