If you use spray adhesive to hold your layers together, that will most likely be picked up on the gloves and that definitely will attract every particle of dust, loose color, or anything else

I think it's called crocking...when two fabrics rub or lay next to each other and some color will transfer between the two. That's why you shouldn't leave a quilt sitting in a washing machine too long after the wash cycle ends.

I use regular garden gloves with the index finger and thumb cut off for quilting. That way I don't have to take off the gloves to pin or thread my machine. And I get them for $1/pair.

Personally, I prefer using glycerin. No problems with trying to thread a needle to bury ends or hassling with gloves at all. A little drop on your palm makes your hands just tacky enough to grip the fabric but doesn't leave anything on the fabric. You can find it in the first aid section of the pharmacy at Wal-Mart. A bottle is a couple dollars and will last your and your friends lifetimes!! It even makes your hands nice and soft!! Try it and you'll never go back to gloves again.

I use cheap rubberized garden gloves, they work great.
