Give that man an extra kiss or two, how thoughtful. Glad you enjoyed it.

What a thoughtful thing to do together!

I saw the exhibit when it was in Philadelphia last year. DH didn't even enter that part of the museum, DD's both left me after a couple of minutes. They expected great art quilts or fantastically executed traditional pieces.

I tried to explain it was about a gift of love and warmth using what you had to take care of your family, but they did't quite get it. Then again, neither of them care for quilts in general.

Luckily, the museum had lots for the three of them to look at while I enjoyed the Gees Bend exhibit.

    Hope you're feeling better soon.

You went to visit the place where I lived and worked till I retired. It was nice to hear that people whent o visit Flint as it is almost in the death throws now. We live in FL and don't miss Flint but sad to see it decaying the way it is. They have several quilt shows a year there I think.

25+ years ago, my very first quilt was made from my husband's old flannel shirts and blue jeans....I had no money to buy new fabric...it was what I HAD. I kept thinking, if it was good enough for our ancestors, it was good enough for us. It's
a bit ragged now, but DH still carries it in his pick-up.

Thanks for sharing your experience

    Hurray for DH and YOU!!

I am so happy that you enjoyed the Gee's Bend exhibit and even happier that you shared your joy. :-)

Three years ago when visiting in Orlando, my hubby dropped me off at the art museum where I spent the whole day viewing the exhibit. The morning of my adventure, I called a dear friend in Milwaukee because I couldn't contain my joy!
