Default Neat marking helper

Neat use for unused adhesive floor tiles:

Peel paper backing off 12" adhesive vinyl floor tile Press a square of medium/fine sandpaper on to sticky side.

This keeps material from slipping when marking applique or piecing blocks.

This is a quick, inexpensive and easy way to make a sandboard and is also great if you are doing signature blocks of any kind to keep the blocks from shifting.

Oh heck, I recently got rid of a few of these tiles. Why is it that as soon as you throw or give something away, you find a great use for it? Maybe I can just buy one from an opened package at the diy store. Thanks for the idea.

Yes, they sell them individually. I paid 79 cents for mine, and got a sing sheet of sandpaper for 99 cents.

Now you tell me! Just after I discarded all the leftover floor tiles from my kitchen floor!

Seriously, great idea. And this is why I can't get rid of anything; I always know I'll need it later.

Good tip. I use a manila folder, then glue a sheet of fine sandpaper, or I have used medium to the inside. I like the floor tile idea as it's 12", but using a manila folder might keep you from getting scratched by the sandpaper (ask me how I know this).

I used a clip board that was all scratched up on top side and used some industrial double stick tape to adhere sandpaper. I like being able to hang it up out of the way

An old shirt size gift box would work also. Punch a whole in the top so you can hang it up if you want. Glue it and there you go.
