Many years ago I made a baby quilt for a dear friend's new grandson.
His room was full of Pooh decorations, so I made him a jeans quilt for
the family's camping trips. Embroidered and pieced, I put Pooh in the
middle hanging on to a balloon, with a pot of Hony in his hand. All
around him were his friends, a smiling tiger and a sad looking donkey, etc.
I'll have to look up old pictures to remember all of them.

That child is now 10 years old and still loves his quilt, but it has been
used by a younger brother since then.

    Congratulations on the babies!

One way to "see" some quilt ideas is on the Quiltshops(dot)com website. If you Search for "Patterns Baby Boy" Lots of fun things pop up to look at. One may provide a springboard idea.

I made a really nice quilt for a boy. I did it with paper piecing. It had trucks, cars, airplanes and a train. It was a lot of work but it came out very nice. My niece said that after a few washing the seams all opened up. So don't do one with paper piecing. I guess they are only for wall hangings.

Sorry to hear that Dell! I have made many a block using paper piecing and never had the seams open. I wonder if the pattern left to little in the seam allowances.

Congratulations on the new grandbabies!! I've done several rail fence and log cabin quilts for boys. I did one this past summer of friendship stars using baseball fabric....
