    Default Wool batting

I have been using Dream Wool batting for most of my quilts and been pretty happy with it. However, my local store now carries Pellon wool batting (100% wool) and I purchased some to use in a queen size quilt that I am making. I am worried about the Pellon because it appears to sort of tear apart (not really tear but sort of stretches) to some degree and I just don't know if it is bound enough or stiff enough to work well for a queen sized quilt. Also it is very thin so I'm thinking would need a double layer?

Can people comment on the different types of wool batting, pros and cons? I know there is one by Hobbs which I have not tried...

    Thankyou,

    Lainey

I like the Hobbs. I have a couple of friends that are international competitors and are always packing quilts around the world. They all swear by wool as it doesn't crease and always look fresh after being packed for o long.

I have only used the Hobbs wool, which I highly recommend. Sorry I can't help with any other brand.

I have used both the Pellon (Legacy) Wool and the Dream Wool and both are fine, but if I would have to pick, I prefer the Dream Wool.

I've used different wool battings and have had no problems with any of them. I only use wool.

I too have some Pellon Wool batting and have the same concerns that you have. I will be watching for responses.

The other concern I have with the Pellon is that it has to be secured every four inches as opposed to eight inches with the Dream Wool. I am assuming this is related to my concern about how stretchy the Pellon seems?

    Thanks for so much input.
