I would make a D9P using the orange in the centre of the 9P and your greens and yellows for the"sashing" part. You would have to sew your flowers in different positions so that when you put your quilt together, the stems are on the bottom and not sideways or upside down (if that matters, everyone is different :^)
I figured it out once, let me know if you need a quick diagram.

Really bright and cheerful fabric collection. Yolajean's quilt is gorgeous and a super pattern. I can so see your floral's in this... I like to appliqué and can totally see an appliqué border to accent the panel flowers. Striped fabric would look awesome as a narrow border before a wide border...then striped fabric to bind quilt. So cute!

You could use them for the center block in a star block, churn & dash block or any 9 patch block

Thanks for posting that. I'm always looking for patterns where I can use a layer cake, jelly roll or charm pack without too much cutting. This will work.

Thank you all for the great ideas. yolajen’s Zig Zam Zoom project is awesome and it may work, I am looking for the pattern. See, that is my biggest challenge... none of the patterns I have seen have directions for incorporsting the 6.5 inch flower square. your suggestions for the square in a square http://www.sameliasmum.com/2013/03/s...l#.UayZotjTDGh
Or for the shoofly i love this which I can turn into a quilt from a table runner http://www.robertkaufman.com/quiltin...tter_and_eggs/
but none starts with a 6.5 inch piece.
Is there some kind of ‘resizing ‘ site or formula to take a block that uses 5 inch squares to 6.5 ?
Thanks again... I’ll post my progress..

Baskets! Need baskets to put those flowers in. But I like the scrappy border, too.

Sometimes you just need to do your own math and re-size things.
One way is to draw it out on graph paper, the way you want it to look.
Then you have the measurements for each piece ...... but will need to add on the seam allowances.

For a simpler block, like the square in a square, you could probably do it without the graph paper, but if you are not confident, the graph paper will help you get the right amounts, and maybe even, avoid wasting fabric.
