Check out "Karen Griska" Quilt patterns. I'm pretty sure I saw one there the other day. Not a free pattern but it is downloadable.

I have made Quilter's Puzzle by Liz Schwartz and Stephen Seifert. Pattern has eQuiltPatterns.com on it. It is for a beginner but the difficult part was like the Twister designs that were so popular a few years ago--don't get them out of order! A design wall is a great aid.
I just looked at that website and the patterns offered say they are paper pieced but I did not do paper piecing on what I made.
