Need new seam ripper
Decided to make RWB log cabin quilt. Made one a year ago and it was so much fun so decided to cut logs for new quilt for PL. Found perfect layer cake to cut my logs...link: http://notesofsincerity.blogspot.com/2012/0B7/layer-cake-log-cabin-blocks.html Found lots of whte prints with sprinkles of RWB. Made 7 blocks and on my design wall lookslike crap. Too busy. Not enough contrast bewteen R/B and whites. Too much color on the white logs.
So changed the plan and decided to do courthouse steps. Need more special whites with sprinkes and splashes of RWB. Took the blocks apart. Looks like a better plan...at least in my brain. However, it looks worse than before on the design wall!!!
Need to give my brain a rest BUT as I'm falling asleep...voice in my head started yelling...USE WHITE AND OR TOT WHITE. WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN TO ME?
It's going to be a very long day. I'm going to blame my glaucoma for this problem. I have my coffee and brownies. Just may need more brownies.

I have a project that I made and hated it also. Should really rip it apart and do something with the pieces, but instead I balled it up, put it in a grocery shopping bag and thought I'd throw it away. Guess I'll drag it out and use the pieces for something scrappy....I'll need a new seam ripper also.

--and sometimes you just have to walk away for this session and come back. It seems we have a mental picture of what it "should" look like and it doesn't look that way at all. But coming back to it becomes a new idea. Plus it may look differently when quilted.

Maybe it's the weather, I have the same situation. I just don't like it, the colors just don't look right.
All the pieces are in a tote bag that I shoved in the closet. Maybe I need to bake some brownies, have some coffee and take another look at it.

Some days are like that, aren't they? I spent Friday doing what I thought would be a relatively quick and easy assembly of a quilt center (which is together), adding the pieced borders, a strip on the two longer sides to make it closer to a square, and the cornerstones on those borders.
Let's just say that after spending the better part of the day monkeying with it, none of the borders are on, but they have been extended where necessary and shortened where too long. I'm pretty sure I spent as much time ripping as I did sewing.
Yesterday we spent some time apart. I needed to walk away, lol! Today, it's going to be DONE.
